Saline County to consider Hutton agreement for future Health Department building

The Saline County Commission will consider an agreement with Hutton Corporation to serve as construction manager at risk for renovations at 651 E. Prescott Road at its Tuesday, Nov. 10, meeting at 9 a.m. at 300 W. Ash in Salina.

The building is intended to house the Saline County Health Department and other county departments. Hutton would work with architect Tessere and county staff on design, construction estimates and scheduling.

Preconstruction services would be provided at no charge. Once construction begins, the proposed compensation includes general conditions expenses estimated at $32,480 per month and a construction-management fee ranging from 4% to 8% of total project cost.

The final construction scope, schedule and guaranteed maximum price would return to the commission for separate consideration before construction is authorized. Approval of this agreement would not approve the final construction budget.
