Topeka Man Injured in Rural Saline County Crash
One person was injured Tuesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Water Well and Burma roads.
According to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred at approximately 1:54 p.m. on July 8, 2026.
Investigators determined a 2018 Freightliner semi driven by a 72-year-old Salina man was traveling northbound on Burma Road approaching Water Well Road. At the same time, a 2024 Ford F-350 pulling a large dump trailer, driven by a 44-year-old man from Topeka, was traveling westbound on Water Well Road.
Authorities reported the Ford F-350 failed to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection and entered the path of the semi. The Freightliner struck the driver’s side of the pickup and trailer.
The 44-year-old Ford driver was transported by ambulance to Salina Regional Health Center with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver of the semi was not injured.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene.
The 44-year-old driver was cited for running a stop sign and for not having a valid driver’s license.
