Salina Family Seeking Dog After Reported Bite on Beatrice Street
A Salina family is asking for the public’s help identifying a dog after a reported bite Saturday morning in the 800 block of Beatrice Street.
According to a social media post from Bryan Thompson, his wife was bitten on the arm at approximately 8:30 a.m. Thompson described the dog as large, brown and shaggy.
Thompson said the dog was being walked by a woman when it reportedly broke away from her and ran toward his wife.
He later said his wife was seen by a doctor and that the bite was not considered severe. The primary concern is determining whether the dog is current on its rabies vaccination.
According to Thompson, the woman walking the dog said it was current on its rabies shots. However, the family does not know the woman’s identity and has not been able to independently verify the dog’s vaccination status through a veterinarian.
The family is attempting to locate the dog and its owner so that vaccination records can be confirmed.
Anyone who recognizes the description or has information about the dog or its owner is encouraged to contact the family or appropriate local authorities.
Salina311 has not independently verified the circumstances surrounding the reported incident or the dog’s vaccination status.
