Salina EDO board to review draft 2027 budget at Thursday meeting

The Salina Community Economic Development Organization board of directors is scheduled to review a draft 2027 budget and hear an update on the Greeneye Technology announcement when it meets Thursday, Oct. 22.

The meeting begins at 10 a.m. in Room A of the Salina Area Chamber of Commerce Annex, 120 W. Ash St. Public comments are listed near the start of the agenda, after the call to order, roll call and visitor introductions.

Draft 2027 budget

The draft budget in the board packet lists total income of $438,500 and total expenses of $408,500 for 2027. The $30,000 difference is shown as contingency reserve funds, leaving net income at $0. The 2026 budget column lists total income of $479,000 and total expenses of $464,187.76.

Member contributions are budgeted at $385,000, the same as in 2026. The draft lists that amount as $300,000 from the City of Salina, $35,000 from Saline County and $50,000 from the Salina Airport Authority.

Wages and salaries are listed at $194,000, compared with $193,000 in the 2026 budget. A note says wages were "figured at 3% increase." Other notes in the packet say computer replacement was increased to cover both workstations, Annual Meeting income and expenses were added, and supplies were increased because of printer toner costs.

Some details of the draft were covered earlier: advertising spending through September, a possible lobbying contract and higher outside services funding, and the end of a two-year digital marketing commitment.

September financials

The board is also scheduled to consider September 2026 financial reports and accounts payable. The statement of financial position lists total assets of $473,374.17 as of Sept. 30, including $366,068.90 in cash and $107,305.27 in strategic reserve funds. The profit and loss report shows net income of $11,365.16 for January through September.

Minutes from the board's Sept. 17 meeting are also up for approval.
